I was impressed. So, when they had their Matte Lipstick line hit the market, I snapped up one (in the shade Maison) as soon as it was available locally. I selected this shade because I was trying to dupe a now discontinued MAC Cosmetics shade, Bronx, in the same matte finish. The pigmentation was equally intense, and in fact, I found the Nyx version of the matte milk chocolate brown shade to be more moisturizing, and yet still provide a clearly matte finish with more comfortable wear. This shade (Maison) made me expand my collection of Nyx Matte Lipsticks to other amazing nude/neutral shades, such as Sable, and they continue to act as my go-to nudes for matte looks. As a sufferer of perpetually delicate lips, which chap at the mere mention of a liquid lipstick or old-school formulation of 'long-wearing lipstick', I had been afraid that these lipsticks might do the same thing to my lips: look great at first, but then over a few hours wear transform into a flaky, drying mess. THEY DID NOT. So, since I didn't have any problems with the wear quality over the course of my day, I would highly recommend this line of lipstick to anyone seeking a 'comfort matte' finish to their lipstick. With the huge range of colors available, I may start branching out into more bold shades in this line, but trust me, Maison & Sable will forever be staples in my lipstick collection & wardrobe. I love all things Nyx Cosmetics, so perhaps I'm just a little bit biased.
